DIPTHERIA

Diphtheria (Greek διφθέρα (diphthera) "pair of leather scrolls") is an upper respiratory tract illness It is characterized by sore throat, low fever, and an adherent membrane (a pseudomembrane) on the tonsils, pharynx, and/or nasal cavity.

CAUSATIVE ORGANISM: -

Corynebacterium diphtheriae, a facultative anaerobic, Gram-positive bacterium. Diphtheria is a contagious disease spread by direct physical contact or breathing the aerosolized secretions of infected individuals

SYMPTOMS:-

The symptoms of diphtheria usually begin two to seven days after infection. Symptoms of diphtheria include

1.       fever of 38°C (100.4°F) or above,

2.        chills, fatigue,

3.       bluish skin coloration,

4.       sore throat, hoarseness,

5.       cough,

6.        headache,

7.       difficulty swallowing, painful swallowing,

8.        difficulty breathing, rapid breathing,

9.        foul-smelling bloodstained nasal discharge and

10.    lymphadenopathy.

Diarrhea comparison of various Drug

CHINA- offensive stool, yellow or brown color,watery diarrhea, mixed with undigested food particle, especially at night, with or without pain, extreme weakness after diarrhoea, diarrhoea after eating.

ACID PHOS- distension and rumbling abdomen before passing stool, white stool without pain.

FERRUM MET- mixed with undigested food linke china, without pain like acid phos , but compells to pass stool during eating food , no offensive stool, flatulence before diarrhoea.
ARGENTUM NIT- Diarrhoea with extreme force, flatulence with diarrhea.

PHOS- INVOLUNTARY    DIARRHOEA as if rectum is open, in ALOES stool passes with flatulence or during micturation.

ARSENIC- burning in abdomen with diarrhoea, thirsty aggravate after midnight,

PODO- diarrhoea in children especially, undigested food particle, offensive, especially in morning and slowing down whole day.

OLIENDER- stool passes with undigested food particle even  eaten food 2-3 days before also.
